Rotational Grazing Systems for Horses

Register Here

Free to Attend, but registration is required. Please dress for the weather.

Where: Becky Kinkead’s farm, 83 Abernathy Pl., Cornwall, VT 05753

Join us for a pasture walk focused on rotationally grazing horses, hosted in partnership with Becky Kinkead and her Icelandic horses. Becky manages her herd using her paddock paradise system, supporting both the land and the horses.

During this pasture walk, we’ll highlight and discuss the many benefits of rotationally grazing horses, including:

  • Tall, fibrous forage that supports horses with lower metabolisms

  • Track systems that provide exercise even while grazing

  • Reduced mud and improved hoof health

  • Stronger plant and soil health

  • Improved water quality

Hosted by UVM Extension's Champlain Valley Crop, Soil & Pasture Team and the Center for Sustainable Agriculture
