Join us at Lucas Cattle Co. in Orwell, VT for a field walk and refresher training on pasture plant ID. Learn the tips and tricks for identifying cool-season perennial grasses, legumes, and various forbs. We will discuss plant growth habits, physiology, plant palatability, and grazing animal behavior. We will also talk about grazing infrastructure and highlight the best tools for well-managed and efficient grazing systems. We will evaluate types of polywire, fencing reels, and float valves, plus permanent fencing and grades of pipeline most used on farms.

This event is free, but registration is required. The event is focused on the service provider community. The event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Please bring your own lunch and whatever you need to nourish yourself throughout the day. Event will be rain or shine! Bring appropriate footwear, rain gear and/or sunscreen.
