The Workshop:
Join Joshua Greene, Director of Education for Trees for Graziers, for a full-day, hands-on workshop at Singing Pastures Farm exploring how well-designed silvopasture systems can improve livestock performance, farm resilience, and long-term profitability. Set on a working pasture-based livestock farm, this workshop will combine classroom discussion with an in-depth farm tour, giving participants the opportunity to see silvopasture principles in practice.
Joshua will share the design process behind successful silvopasture systems, including tree species selection, pasture establishment, livestock integration, and management strategies that balance ecological health with farm productivity. Participants will learn how trees can enhance forage production, improve animal comfort and welfare, build soil health, diversify farm income, and strengthen resilience to changing weather conditions.
Whether you are considering planting your first trees or expanding an existing silvopasture, this workshop will provide practical tools, design frameworks, and real-world examples to help you successfully integrate trees into grazing systems.

About Singing Pastures Farm:
Singing Pastures Farm is a pasture-raised pork farm in Maine owned by John and Holly Arbuckle, a 9th-generation farming family who relocated from Missouri in 2018. On their former dairy farm, they raise pigs using regenerative practices that prioritize animal welfare, healthy soils, and ecosystem restoration. In addition to selling pasture-raised pork, they created Roam Sticks, a line of naturally fermented and slow-smoked pork snacks that showcases their commitment to sustainable, value-added agriculture.
